Medina is the blessed city of migration, home to the Prophet ﷺ's Mosque, where the Prophet and his companions lived in harmony.
Medina is the illuminated city to which the Prophet ﷺ and early Muslims migrated, received by the Helpers (Ansar) with profound generosity. There, the first Islamic commonwealth was established based on justice and the Constitution of Medina. It houses the Prophet's Mosque, the Rawdah, and the resting places of the Prophet and his companions Abu Bakr and Umar.
Storytellers (10–12) read the Explorers text, then cross to the Scholars text.
Taybah, the City of the Prophet ﷺ, and the second holiest sanctuary in Islam, situated in a fertile volcanic oasis in the Hejaz roughly 400 kilometers north of Mecca. Following the Hijra in 622 CE, it served as the political and spiritual capital of the early Islamic state, where the Prophet forged brotherhood between Emigrants and Helpers and promulgated the Constitution of Medina. Encompassing the Prophet's Mosque, the Rawdah, Jannat al-Baqi, and the Mosque of Quba, Medina was designated an inviolable sanctuary (haram), serving as the crucible for the revelation of communal laws and civic ethics.
