Summary

Malik transmits from Nafi that when Abdullah ibn Umar sent an offering from Medina, he garlanded it and marked it at Dhu al-Hulayfa; he garlanded it before marking it, at one place and facing the qibla; he garlanded it with two sandals and marked it on the left side; then it was driven with him until he stood with it at Arafat with people, then pushed on with them when they pushed on; and when he came to Mina on the morning of sacrifice he slaughtered it before shaving or shortening his hair. He slaughtered his offerings with his own hand, lining them up standing and facing the qibla, then ate and fed. The editor notes that al-Bukhari hung it as suspended from Ibn Umar. 1
