Chain of transmission
Summary
Malik transmits from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that when he set out for Mecca to perform the lesser pilgrimage during the strife, he said: if I am turned away from the House, we will do as we did with the Messenger of God ﷺ; so he entered ihram for the lesser pilgrimage; then he considered his affair and said: their rulings are only one. Then he called his companions to witness that he had made the pilgrimage obligatory together with the lesser pilgrimage; then he went on until he came to the House, circumambulated it once, considered that sufficient for him, and gave an offering. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1173) and Ismail ibn Abi Uways in al-Bukhari (1813) transmitted it. 1
