Chain of transmission
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on garments forbidden to one in ihram. Malik transmits from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that a man asked the Prophet ﷺ what the one in ihram may wear; he said: do not wear shirts, turbans, trousers, hooded cloaks or socks, except one who cannot find two sandals may wear two socks and cut them below the ankles; and do not wear any garment touched by saffron or wars. The editor notes that Abu Musab transmitted it from Malik, and through him Ibn Majah and Ibn Hibban and al-Baghawi, Ismail ibn Abi Uways in al-Bukhari (5803), and many others. 1
