Chain of transmission
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on what a menstruating woman does in the pilgrimage. Malik transmits from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar used to say: the menstruating woman who enters ihram for the pilgrimage or the lesser pilgrimage may enter ihram for her pilgrimage or lesser pilgrimage if she wishes, but she does not circumambulate the House or run between al-Safa and al-Marwa; she witnesses all the rites with the people, and does not approach the mosque until she is clean. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1102) and al-Shaybani (464) transmitted it from Malik. 1
