Summary
Malik transmits from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar once sacrificed in Medina; Nafi said: he ordered me to buy him a horned, castrated ram, and I slaughtered it on the day of sacrifice in the prayer ground of the people; then it was brought to Abdullah ibn Umar, who shaved his head when the ram was slaughtered, for he was ill and did not attend the feast with the people. Abdullah used to say that shaving the head is not obligatory on the one who sacrifices, though Ibn Umar did it. 1
