Chain of transmission

  1. Malik ibn Anas
  2. Zayd ibn Aslam

Summary

Malik transmits from Zayd ibn Aslam that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) used to say: O God, I ask You for martyrdom in Your path and death in the city of Your messenger. The editor notes that its chain is cut off, since Zayd ibn Aslam did not meet Umar, and that al-Bukhari connected it. 1
