Summary
Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) said: the nobility of the believer is his piety, his religion is his lineage, and his manliness is his character; boldness and cowardice are instincts God places wherever He wishes; the coward flees from his father and mother, and the bold fights for what does not return to his home; death is one of the deaths, and the martyr is one who reckons himself to God. 1
