Summary
Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said that when the day of Uhud came, the Messenger of God ﷺ said: who will bring me news of Sad ibn al-Rabi al-Ansari? A man said: I will. He went among the dead; Sad ibn al-Rabi said to him: what is the matter with you? He said: the Messenger of God sent me to bring him news of you. He said: go to him, read him my greetings, and tell him I was stabbed twelve stabs, and my vital place was pierced; and tell your people there is no excuse for them before God if the Messenger of God is killed while one of them is alive. The editor notes this is as stated. 1
