Summary

A saying of Malik transmitted by Yahya in the chapter on the ablution of one who sleeps when he rises for prayer: the practice among the people of Medina is that there is no ablution from a nosebleed, blood or pus that flows from the body, and that ablution is only for something that comes out of the two passages or from sleep. The editor explains nosebleed as blood from the nose, and refers to the disagreement of the jurists in al-Tirmidhi. 1
