Overview
Rifa'a ibn Zayd al-Judhami came to the Prophet during the truce of al-Hudaybiyya before Khaybar, and became a Muslim, and the Prophet wrote him a letter to his people, and they became Muslims. 1
The report
Rifa'a ibn Zayd al-Judhami, then al-Dubaybi, came to the Prophet during the truce of al-Hudaybiyya before Khaybar. He gave him a slave as a gift, and he became a Muslim and his Islam was good. The Prophet wrote him a letter to his people. 1 In the letter it says that Muhammad, Messenger of God, sent Rifa'a ibn Zayd to his people, all of them and whoever joins them, calling them to God and His Messenger: whoever comes is in the party of God and His Messenger, and whoever turns away has two months' safe conduct. 1 When Rifa'a came to his people, they answered and became Muslims, then they went to the lava field of al-Rajla and settled there. 1
Notes on the report
- Ibn Ishaq places the account among the delegations, although it is before Khaybar; the date is derived from the mention of the truce. 1
