Summary

A report that Malik transmits from his paternal uncle Abu Suhayl ibn Malik from his father Malik ibn Abi Amir, in the chapter on what is done in recitation: people heard Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him)'s recitation in the prayer near the house of Abu Jahm at al-Balat, because of how loud and high his voice was. The editor explains al-Balat as a paved place in Medina between the mosque and the market, and notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd, Abd al-Razzaq, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan and Yahya ibn Bukayr transmitted it. 1
