Summary

A report that Malik transmits from his paternal uncle Abu Suhayl Nafi' ibn Malik from his father Malik ibn Abi Amir, in the chapter on the times of prayer: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) wrote to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari that he should pray noon when the sun declines, the afternoon while the sun is white and clear before yellowness enters it, maghrib at sunset, and delay isha as long as sleep does not overcome him, and pray dawn while the stars are visible, reciting two long surahs of the mufassal. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab al-Zuhri, Suwayd ibn Sa'id and Abd al-Razzaq transmitted it from Malik. 1 2
