Chain of transmission
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Hisham ibn Urwa from Zuyayd ibn al-Salt, in the chapter on the man who repeats prayer: Zuyayd went out with Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) to al-Jurf. Umar saw that he had had a wet dream and prayed without bathing. He swore that he did not think he had had a dream without noticing, and prayed without bathing; so he bathed, washed what he had seen on his garment, sprinkled what he had not seen, gave the call to prayer, and then prayed after the forenoon had risen, at ease. The editor explains al-Jurf as a place three miles from Medina on the Syria side, and notes that Abu Mus'ab, Ibn Wahb in al-Tahawi and Suwayd and Abd al-Razzaq transmitted it from Malik. 1
