Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on the marriage of one in ihram. Malik transmits from Rabia ibn Abi Abd al-Rahman, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, that the Messenger of God ﷺ married his client Abu Rafi and a man of the Ansar to Maymuna bint al-Harith (may God be pleased with her), while the Messenger of God was in Medina before he set out. The editor notes that the hadith is traced connected through Hammad ibn Zayd from Mutar al-Warraq in Ahmad and elsewhere; that al-Tirmidhi said Malik transmitted it relayed; and the editor prefers the relayed version, after Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that Mutar erred, since Abu Rafi died shortly after the killing of Uthman, Sulayman did not hear from him, and Maymuna was his client. 1
