«اعتمري في رمضان فإن عمرة فيه كحجة»

Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- Sumayy, mawla of Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman
- Muhammad
Summary
Malik transmits from Sumayy, client of Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman, that he heard Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman say: a woman came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: I had prepared for the pilgrimage, but something blocked me. The Messenger of God said to her: make the lesser pilgrimage in Ramadan, for a lesser pilgrimage in it is equal to a pilgrimage. The editor notes that the hadith appears relayed on its face; that Abu Bakr heard it from that woman, so it becomes connected; that it is traced connected in al-Tabarani under the name Umm Maqil; that al-Tirmidhi graded it good; and that the lesser pilgrimage in Ramadan equals the pilgrimage in reward, not in discharging the obligation. 1
