«أتاني جبريل فأمرني أن آمر أصحابي، أو من معي، أن يرفعوا أصواتهم بالتلبية أو بالإهلال»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on raising the voice in calling out (ihlal). Malik transmits from Abdallah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm (may God be pleased with him), from Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham (may God be pleased with him), from Khallad ibn al-Saib al-Ansari, from his father, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: Gabriel came to me and ordered me to command my companions, or those with me, to raise their voices in the talbiya or the call. The editor notes that al-Tirmidhi said some transmitted it from Khallad from Zayd ibn Khalid, which is not sound, and that the sound version is from Khallad from his father; and that Ibn Abd al-Barr hoped Malik's transmission would be the more sound. 1
