Chain of transmission
Summary
A report from Malik that he was told the Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate, asking God to do good deeds, to abandon wrong deeds, to love the poor, and to take him to Himself untried if He wills a trial for people. The editor notes that one copy has "I turned", that Abu Mus'ab and Suwayd transmitted it from Malik from Yahya ibn Sa'id, and Ibn Abd al-Barr (al-Tamhid 24/321–325) said he knows these words only in the report of Abd al-Rahman ibn A'ish al-Hadrami, a good report transmitted by trustworthy transmitters, and it is also transmitted from Ibn Abbas, Mu'adh ibn Jabal, Thawban and Abu Umama. The editor adds that Abd al-Rahman ibn A'ish did not hear from the Prophet, as al-Bukhari, al-Tirmidhi, Ahmad and Abu Hatim stated, but it is transmitted from him from Malik ibn Yukhamir from Mu'adh ibn Jabal in Ahmad (5/243) and al-Tirmidhi (3235), who called it sound and good. The report of Ibn Abbas in Abd al-Razzaq, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi (3233, 3234) is flawed. 1 2
