Summary
A report that Malik transmits as a mursal from Ziyad ibn Abi Ziyad from Talha ibn Ubayd Allah ibn Kurayz, that the Prophet ﷺ said the best supplication is the supplication on the day of Arafat, and the best thing he and the prophets before him said is: there is no god but God alone, with no partner. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that there is no disagreement about its mursal form through Malik, and that it was connected from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him) through Dinar Abu Amr, who is not one whose report is relied on, and from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may God be pleased with him) (may God be pleased with him) through Amr ibn Shu'ayb. The editor adds that Abdullah ibn Amr's hadith is in Ahmad (2/210) and al-Tirmidhi (3585), who said it is strange in this route, and that the hadith will come later in the Book of Pilgrimage. 1
