«نهى عن لبس القسي، وعن تختم الذهب، وعن قراءة القرآن في الركوع»

A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources

Summary

The first hadith in the chapter on what is done in recitation. Yahya transmits from Malik from Nafi' from Ibrahim ibn Abdullah ibn Hunayn from his father, from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ forbade the wearing of al-qassi, a garment from Egypt that has silk, forbade wearing gold rings, and forbade reciting the Qur'an while bowing. The editor cites Muslim, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban and Ahmad. Ibn Abd al-Barr says the chain and wording differ widely in transmission from Nafi' and from Ibrahim, and al-Daraqutni discussed it in his Ilal, but that does not harm the text Malik transmitted, since he said it is sound as Malik and those who follow him transmitted it. 1 2
