Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ubayd Allah ibn Abd al-Rahman from Ubayd ibn Hunayn, client of the family of Zayd ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him), that he heard Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) say: I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ when he heard a man recite Surat al-Ikhlas. He said: it is established. Abu Hurayra asked what, Messenger of God, and he said: Paradise. Abu Hurayra says he wanted to go to the man to give him the good news, then feared missing the midday meal with the Prophet and chose the meal. When he went to the man, he had gone. The editor notes Yahya's name as "Ubayd Allah ibn Abd al-Rahman", followed by most transmitters, while al-Qa'nabi and Mutarrif said "Abdullah", and Yahya's version is right. The editor cites al-Tirmidhi (2897), al-Hakim, and al-Nasa'i, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1 2
