Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Sa'id from Amra bint Abd al-Rahman from Aisha: she said that if the Prophet ﷺ had seen what women have newly introduced after him, he would have forbidden them the mosques, as the women of the Children of Israel were forbidden. Yahya ibn Sa'id asked Amra whether the women of the Children of Israel were forbidden the mosques, and she said yes. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd and al-Qa'nabi in Abu Dawud (695), and al-Tinisi in al-Bukhari (869) transmitted it. Ibn Abd al-Barr says that the other transmitters said "forbidden the mosque" in the singular, and only Yahya ibn Yahya said "mosques" (al-Tamhid). 1 2
