Summary
Malik transmits from Humayd ibn Qays, from Ata ibn Abi Rabah, that a Bedouin came to the Messenger of God ﷺ at Hunayn, wearing a shirt with traces of yellow; he said: Messenger of God, I entered ihram for the lesser pilgrimage, so how do you order me to act? He said: take off your shirt, wash off this yellow, and do in your lesser pilgrimage what you do in your pilgrimage. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr said the hadith is relayed in the Muwatta, connected through sound routes from Ata other than Malik's; that the correct version is from Safwan ibn Yala from his father Yala ibn Umayya from the Prophet, and that al-Shaykhan and the authors of the Sunan transmitted it so. 1
