«فيما سقت السماء والعيون، والبعل: العشر، وفيما سقي بالنضح: نصف العشر»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first report in the chapter on zakat on the dried and fresh dates and grapes estimated (kharasa). Malik transmits from a trusted narrator, from Sulayman ibn Yasar and from Busr ibn Said, as a mursal report, that the Prophet ﷺ said: for what the sky waters, springs, and rain-fed land irrigate, a tenth; for what is watered by hand-carried water, half a tenth. The editor notes that Abu Musab and Yahya ibn Bukayr transmitted it from Malik, and that Ibn Abd al-Barr (al-Tamhid 24/161) says it is connected through sound routes from Ibn Umar, Jabir and Muadh, and that al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted the mursal through Asim ibn Abd al-Aziz; al-Tirmidhi held the mursal more sound and the report of Ibn Umar is sound in the chapter, as in al-Bukhari, Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who called it good and sound. 1
