«ليس فيما دون خمسة أوسق من التمر صدقة، وليس فيما دون خمس أواق من الورق صدقة، وليس فيما دون خمس ذود من الإبل صدقة»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
Malik transmits from Muhammad ibn Abdallah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sasaa al-Ansari al-Mazini, from his father, from Abu Said al-Khudri (may God be pleased with him), that the Prophet ﷺ said: there is no zakat on fewer than five wasqs of dates, nor on fewer than five ounces of silver, nor on fewer than five camels. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that Malik erred in this chain, and that Muhammad, his father and his brother are not famous, and that al-Bukhari did not include it because of disagreement; the editor responds that the transmissions are preserved and the narrators are known trustworthy, and that Muslim transmitted it from Jabir. 1
