Summary
A saying of Malik regarding gold and silver held in common by partners: whoever's share reaches twenty dinars in coin or two hundred dirhams owes zakat on it; whoever's share falls short owes none; and if all their shares together reach the threshold but they differ, zakat is taken from each person in proportion to his share, if each share contains what zakat is due on, citing the Prophet ﷺ's words that there is no charity on fewer than five ounces of silver. Malik said: this is the most beloved to me of what I have heard. The editor notes that Abu Musab transmitted it from Malik. 1
