Summary
A saying of Malik: there is no zakat on twenty dinars that are clearly short; if the excess increases until it reaches twenty full-weight dinars, zakat is due on them; and there is no zakat on less than twenty dinars. Likewise, there is no zakat on two hundred dirhams that are clearly short; if with its excess it reaches two hundred full dirhams, zakat is due on it; if it passes as full-weight dirhams, it is subject to zakat, whether dinars or dirhams. The editor notes that the word 'coin' is not in the copy and that Abu Musab transmitted it from Malik. 1
