The scripture of Islam, which Muslims believe was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ Muhammad. It has 114 suras and 6,236 verses in the Hafs reading, as given in the Tanzil text. It was revealed in parts over about twenty-three years and gathered into one mushaf in the time of Uthman. The museum shows the verses only from the frozen Tanzil text, and never types the Qur'an in any other way. The sciences of the Qur'an, including commentary, recitation and its readings, have their own entries.
