Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Sa'id from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn al-Harith al-Taymi from Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that he heard the Prophet ﷺ describe a people who will come out, whose prayer and fasting and deeds will seem small beside theirs, who recite the Qur'an without it passing beyond their throats, and who pass out of the religion as an arrow passes out of its game animal, so that when the arrow is examined its blade, shaft and fletching show nothing, and its notch is in doubt. The editor explains fuwq as the place of the arrow's nock, and notes that Abu Mus'ab transmitted it, and from him Ibn Hibban; al-Qa'nabi and al-Tinisi in al-Bukhari (5058); and Ibn al-Qasim in al-Nasa'i's Fada'il al-Qur'an. A copy has "from Abu Sa'id, he said". 1 2
