«من يدعوني فأستجيب له؟ من يسألني فأعطيه؟ من يستغفرني فأغفر له؟»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab from Abu Abdallah al-Aghar and from Abu Salama, both from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ told that God descends each night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains, and says: who calls on Me, that I may answer him? Who asks Me, that I may give him? Who seeks My forgiveness, that I may forgive him? The editor notes that some copies have "Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman", and that Abu Mus'ab, Ibn Hibban, al-Baghawi, al-Qa'nabi and Abd al-Aziz ibn Abdallah in al-Bukhari (6321), Ma'n in al-Tirmidhi (3498), and Yahya ibn Yahya al-Naysaburi in Muslim (2/175) transmitted it. Isma'il ibn Abi Uways transmitted it from Malik from the route of al-Aghar alone in al-Bukhari (7494). 1 2
