Chain of transmission
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on what to do about forgetting. Yahya transmits from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ told that Satan comes to the one who prays and confuses him until he does not know how many rak'as he prayed. Whoever finds this should make two prostrations while seated. The editor cites al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1
