Summary
A report that Yahya transmits from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Ibn Ukayma al-Laythi from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him), in the chapter on not reciting behind the imam in prayers he recites aloud: the Prophet ﷺ finished a prayer in which he had recited aloud and asked whether anyone recited with him. A man said yes, and the Prophet said, "Why am I being disputed in the Qur'an?" The people stopped reciting with him in prayers he recited aloud when they heard this. The editor cites Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban, Ahmad, al-Shafi'i and al-Bukhari in his Qira'a Khalf al-Imam, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1
