«يستجاب لأحدكم ما لم يعجل، فيقول: قد دعوت فلم يستجب لي»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab from Abu Ubayd, client of Ibn Azhar, from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ told that the supplicant is answered as long as he is not hasty and says, "I supplicated and I was not answered". The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab transmitted it, with Ibn Hibban from him, Ishaq ibn Sulayman in Ibn Majah (3853), al-Qa'nabi in Abu Dawud (1484), al-Tinisi in al-Bukhari (6340), Ma'n in al-Tirmidhi (3387), and Yahya ibn Yahya al-Naysaburi in Muslim (8/87). 1 2
