Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ forbade the supplicant to tie his request to God's will, saying "O God, forgive me if You will, have mercy on me if You will", and told him to make his request firmly, since no one can compel God. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab and Ishaq al-Tabba' in Ahmad, Suwayd, al-Qa'nabi and al-Bukhari (6339) through him, Abu Dawud (1483), and Ma'n in al-Tirmidhi (3497) transmitted it. 1
