Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him), in the chapter on the toothstick: the Prophet ﷺ said that if it were not a hardship on his community, he would have ordered them to use the toothstick as an obligation. The editor cites al-Bukhari, al-Nasa'i and al-Bayhaqi from Malik's transmitters, and Muslim, Abu Dawud and Ibn Khuzayma from Sufyan's chain with similar wording, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1 2
