Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on the hour on Friday. Yahya transmits from Malik from Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him): the Prophet ﷺ mentioned Friday and said there is an hour in which no Muslim servant who is standing and praying asks God for something without being given it. He indicated its shortness with his hand. The editor cites al-Bukhari, Muslim, al-Nasa'i, Ahmad and al-Shafi'i from Malik's transmitters, and notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that most Muwatta transmitters say "and he is standing praying", except al-Qa'nabi, Abu Mus'ab, Ibn Abi Uways and al-Tunaysi, who omitted "and he is standing", while the well-known wording in Abu al-Zinad's version includes it (al-Tamhid). 1
