Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him), in the chapter on the merit of congregational prayer over praying alone: the Prophet ﷺ swore that he had intended to order wood to be gathered, then to order the prayer to be called and a man to lead the people, then to go to men who stay away from the congregation and burn their houses over them. He swore that if one of them knew he would find a fat bone or two fine pieces of meat, he would attend the isha prayer. The editor explains marmat as the meat between the two hooves of a sheep, and cites al-Bukhari, al-Nasa'i, al-Shafi'i and al-Bayhaqi from Malik's transmitters, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1
