Chain of transmission
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on the command to perform ablution for one who touches the Qur'an. Yahya transmits from Malik from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr (may God be pleased with him) ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm (may God be pleased with him) that in the letter the Prophet ﷺ wrote to Amr ibn Hazm was the rule that none touch the Qur'an except one who is pure. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab, Suwayd and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Shaybani transmitted it, that the Prophet's letter to Amr ibn Hazm to the people of Yemen, on the sunna, the obligations and the blood-money, is well known to scholars, and refers to al-Musnad al-Jami' and al-Tamhid. 1
