Summary
Yahya said: the best Malik heard from people of knowledge about a man or woman who swears by a walk to the House of God and breaks the oath, is that if the one who breaks it walks in an umrah, he walks until he runs between al-Safa and al-Marwa; when he has run, he is finished. If he vows a walk in the pilgrimage, he walks until he reaches Mecca, then walks until he has finished all the rites, and he keeps walking until he disperses. Malik says there is no walk except in a pilgrimage or an umrah. 1
