«افْعَلي ما يَفْعَلُ الحَاجُّ غَيْرَ أنْ لا تَطُوفِي بالبَيْتِ، ولا بَينَ الصَّفَا والمَرْوَةِ حتَّى تَطْهُرِي»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
Malik transmits from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, from his father, from Aisha, who said: I came to Mecca while menstruating, and did not circumambulate the House or run between al-Safa and al-Marwa; I complained of that to the Messenger of God ﷺ; he said: do what the pilgrim does, except that you may not circumambulate the House or run between al-Safa and al-Marwa until you are clean. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr thought the hadith in the Muwatta is from the transmission of the group of narrators from Ibn Shihab from Urwa from Aisha. 1
