Summary

Malik was asked about a man who swears by specified vows to walk to the House of God, not to speak to his brother or his father about so-and-so, a vow for something he cannot manage; if he undertook that every year, he would know that his lifetime will not reach what he has vowed. He said: I do not know that it suffices him except to fulfil what he has vowed; let him walk as long as he can, and draw near to God with what good he can. 1
