A stopped report that Malik transmits from Nafi' from Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him), in the chapter on the qibla: what lies between east and west is qibla when the one praying faces the House. The editor notes that similar is reported from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him) and Ibn Abbas, and that it is reported raised from Abu Hurayra (may God be pleased with him) in al-Tirmidhi (344), who called it good and sound. 1
