Summary

The first report in the chapter on straightening the rows. Yahya transmits from Malik from Nafi' that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) used to order the rows to be straightened, and when they came to him and said they were straight, he would say the takbir. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab and Suwayd transmitted it, that Abd al-Razzaq transmitted it from Nafi' from Ibn Umar, and that al-Tirmidhi commented on it after hadith 227. 1
