Talha ibn Ubaydullah (may God be pleased with him) al-Taymi al-Qurashi, one of the eight who were the first band of Islam; he entered Islam at Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may God be pleased with him)'s invitation in the secret-call years at Mecca.

Talha ibn Ubaydullah (may God be pleased with him) al-Taymi al-Qurashi, one of the eight who were the first band of Islam; he entered at Abu Bakr's invitation in the secret-call years. Al-Sallabi reports a monk at Busra told him a prophet had come out of Mecca, and Abu Bakr brought him to the Prophet ﷺ; he fought at Uhud until he took twenty-four wounds, and the Prophet said he had made Paradise due. He divided his wealth and kept none overnight — seven hundred thousand from Hadramawt lay on his mind until he divided it by morning. An arrow struck him at the start of the Camel; Ali passed his body wiping the dust from his face: 'would I had died twenty years before this'. Some historians name Marwan ibn al-Hakam as the shooter, a report al-Sallabi refutes.

Talha ibn Ubaydullah (may God be pleased with him) al-Taymi al-Qurashi, one of the eight who were the first band of Islam; he entered at Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may God be pleased with him)'s invitation in the secret-call years at Mecca, the book naming him by his Taymi line. Al-Sallabi reports he embraced it after a monk at Busra told him a prophet had come out of Mecca, Abu Bakr bringing him to the Prophet ﷺ; he fought at Uhud until he took twenty-four wounds, and the Prophet said of him he had made Paradise due for what he did. Al-Sallabi tells that Talha divided his wealth and kept none overnight — money reached him from Hadramawt worth seven hundred thousand and he lay restless until he divided it in the morning. In the Camel he was struck by an arrow in the knee or the neck at the start of the battle, and Ali passed his body wiping the dust from his face saying 'would I had died twenty years before this'. Some historians relate Marwan ibn al-Hakam shot him, a report al-Sallabi refutes.
