Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on what does not require ihram from garlanding the offering. Malik transmits from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr (may God be pleased with him) ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm (may God be pleased with him), from Amra bint Abd al-Rahman, that she told him that Ziyad ibn Abi Sufyan wrote to Aisha, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, that Abdullah ibn Abbas (may God be pleased with him) said: whoever gives an offering is forbidden what is forbidden to the pilgrim until he sacrifices the offering; and I have sent an offering, so write to me with your command. Aisha said: it is not as Ibn Abbas said; I myself twisted the garlands of the Messenger of God's offering with my hands; then he garlanded it with his own hand and sent it with my father, and nothing that God had made lawful for the Messenger of God was forbidden him until he sacrificed the offering. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1096), Ismail ibn Abi Uways in al-Bukhari (2317), Suwayd and others transmitted it from Malik. 1
