Chain of transmission
Summary
Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Said, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, that Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may God be pleased with him) set out on pilgrimage, and when he was at al-Nazi on the road to Mecca his mounts went astray; he came to Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) on the day of sacrifice and told him. Umar said to him: do what the lesser pilgrim does, then you are released; and when the pilgrimage reaches you in a later year, make the pilgrimage and offer what is feasible of an offering. The editor notes that Abu Musab transmitted it from Malik (1429, 1430 in the editor's order). 1
