Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Yahya ibn Sa'id from Sulayman ibn Yasar, that Muhammad ibn al-Ash'ath told him that a paternal aunt of his, a Jewess or a Christian, died. He mentioned it to Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him), who asked, "Who inherits from her?". Umar said her co-religionists inherit from her. He then went to Uthman ibn Affan (may God be pleased with him) and asked him, and Uthman said: do you think I have forgotten what Umar ibn al-Khattab said to you? Her co-religionists inherit from her. 1
