A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Chain of transmission
Summary
Malik transmits from Abdallah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm (may God be pleased with him), that the Messenger of God ﷺ offered as a gift a camel that had belonged to Abu Jahl ibn Hisham, for a pilgrimage or a lesser pilgrimage. The editor notes that Yahya mentioned 'from Nafi' in the chain, which is a clear error according to Ibn Abd al-Barr, who said Suwayd erred in the chain from al-Zuhri from Anas; and that Abu Musab (1199), Suwayd (522) and Yahya ibn Bukayr (in al-Bayhaqi) transmitted it. 1
