«إني أرى رؤياكم قد تواطأت في السبع الأواخر، فمن كان متحريها فليتحرها في السبع الأواخر»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Chain of transmission
Summary
It reached Malik: some of the Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ were shown the Night of Decree in a dream in the last seven nights; the Messenger of God said: I see your dreams have agreed on the last seven nights; so whoever seeks it, let him seek it in the last seven nights. The editor notes that Yahya narrated it as a report that reached him; the preserved transmission for al-Qa'nabi, al-Shafii, Ibn Wahb, Ibn al-Qasim, Ibn Bukayr and most transmitters is from Malik from Nafi from Ibn Umar; and that the hadith of Ibn Umar in the Muwatta is preserved through Abdallah ibn Dinar as above; Ibn Abd al-Barr counted this hadith among those Malik alone transmitted, and Ibn al-Salah said its text is very strange and its chain very weak. 1
