«أرسلت إليه بقدح لبن وهو واقف على بعيره بعرفة فشرب»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on fasting the day of Arafat. Malik transmits from Abu al-Nadr, client of Umar ibn Ubaydallah, from Umayr, client of Abdullah ibn Abbas (may God be pleased with him), from Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith, that some people disputed in her presence on the day of Arafat about the fasting of the Messenger of God ﷺ; some said he was fasting and some said he was not fasting. She sent him a bowl of milk while he was standing on his camel at Arafat, and he drank it. The editor notes that Abu Musab (891 and 1365) and Suwayd (476 and 562) and al-Shaybani transmitted it from Malik, and that it is in the two Sahihs. 1
